The Safety and Wellness Manager is responsible for the proactive development, implementation, and execution of the workplace safety and wellness strategy to support the optimisation of employee performance across the Asia Pacific Region.
How You'll Shine
Lead and embed a high-performance safety and wellness culture across 4,500 employees and contractors in the Asia Pacific region, ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.
Represent Health, Safety, Wellness, Risk, and Continuous Improvement at executive forums including Board and Risk & Audit Committees, acting as a trusted subject matter expert.
Design and implement a region-wide Wellbeing Framework that addresses physical, mental, emotional, social, and workplace wellbeing, embedding measurable, preventative, and sustainable practices.
Develop and deploy WHS and risk governance frameworks that leverage both leading and lagging indicators to improve operational excellence and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
Champion psychosocial risk management, partnering with internal teams to implement evidence-based education strategies, support programs, and assessment tools that meet emerging legislative requirements.
Drive system adoption and integration of digital safety and risk platforms (e.g., Donesafe), ensuring cross-functional alignment and user accountability.
Deliver measurable improvement in injury management performance, leading early intervention strategies and best-practice return-to-work outcomes while minimizing insurance premiums.
Build and maintain strategic vendor partnerships to support health initiatives, including EAP services, drug and alcohol testing, and health contract delivery.
Lead internal audit and compliance activities related to safety and risk management, ensuring regional adherence to regulatory obligations and continuous improvement recommendations.
Serve as a key contributor to the Business Continuity Committee, ensuring employee safety and operational resilience through robust planning and training programs.
Operationalise the "Be Well" program across Asia Pacific, integrating wellness into everyday business practices and tracking performance against key health and wellbeing KPIs.
Influence and coach business leaders across the region, fostering ownership of safety and wellness responsibilities and enhancing workforce engagement in health-first initiatives.
What You'll Bring
Proven experience in a senior safety, wellness, or risk leadership role within a multi-site, regional or global environment.
Strong understanding of WHS legislation, risk frameworks, and psychosocial safety obligations across Australia and Asia.
Demonstrated success in designing and implementing large-scale wellbeing programs with measurable outcomes.
Exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels of the organization.
Experience managing external provider relationships and service delivery contracts (e.g., EAP, D&A testing).
Advanced problem-solving capability, with a focus on prevention, early intervention, and continuous improvement.
Knowledge of safety and wellbeing digital systems (e.g., Donesafe) and data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications in Work Health & Safety, Risk Management, Health Science, or a related field.
Mental Health First Aid or psychosocial safety training is highly desirable.
