The Business Applications Specialist II role supports the customer facing and contact center products with issue resolution and enhancements to reservation management systems. The specialist proactively manages issue resolution, collaborates across business and technology teams, and represents the voice of the business in system-related projects, ensuring that solutions align with user needs and organizational goals.
How You'll Shine:
Test & Implement: Tests and implements new systems and enhancements to existing systems properly to ensure minimal defects
Develops user acceptance test plans by analyzing business requirements and engaging with project team and subject matter experts as necessary.
Designs user acceptance testing processes, maintains testing resources, establishes a testing schedule, and manages individual testers to meet necessary deadlines.
Tests system functionality as a business user, or alongside business subject matter experts, to test the delivered functionality in real-world scenarios and certify user acceptance criteria
Track and prioritizes defects for resolution and consults with appropriate business partners for transparency
Collaborates with development teams to address issues found during testing and validates those actions taken by development resolves the issues
Security & Integrity: Implements precautionary measures and procedures to ensure security and integrity of applications and data, including role management for Travel + Leisure systems.
Maintain roles, resources, and permissions within the Role Based Security application.
IT Liaison: Participates on IT projects including but not limited to coding updates, security updates, and system compatibility projects. Responsible for addressing reservation system IT Tickets.
Participates in business requirement sessions to contribute to system design and to advocate for the end user experience.
Manages monthly overnight scheduled release implementation.
Performs other duties as needed.
What You'll Bring:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to manage competing priorities, meet agreed upon deadlines, and deliver high-quality materials.
Ability to lead system testing and validation outside of regular business hours (including overnight) and over the weekend on a routine basis.
Ability to creatively use technology to solve challenging business problems
Ability to communicate professionally with clients and coworkers
Ability to keep sensitive information confidential
Ability to adapt projects to meet changing business needs
Ability to communicate technical issues to IT partners
Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills
Agile Product owner certification or equivalent agile certification preferred
Leadership experience
Knowledge of Travel + Leisure Programs (Club Wyndham, WorldMark, Shell Vacations Club) preferred
Experience working with Vacation Ownership programs or similar hospitality organizations
Knowledge of Salesforce application and business user testing experience of salesforce or other leading CRM platforms
2 year degree in business, computer science, or related degree or equivalent experience required
2+ years experience with reservation systems preferred
2+ years experience in systems or applications requirements and business testing preferred
1+ years of experience leading User Acceptance Testing for a digital product
1+ years of experience working on a Traditional (SDLC/Waterfall) and Agile software development life cycle team
