The overall purpose/primary function of the DevOps Administrator is to be responsible for automating the provisioning and the operational tasks. Relevant platforms include but are not limited to WebLogic / WebSphere Application Server / Java containers, container-orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Database, Red Hat and Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL) Applications and Servers, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Services, Salesforce, Microsoft Windows Applications and Servers, Cache servers, Search engines (Endeca or equivalent), and Repository (SVN / GIT).
This position interfaces with operations, development, and quality assurance teams. The DevOps administrator is responsible for supporting proprietary applications, open source, commercial software, and cloud.
How You'll Shine:
Creation and modification of automation and orchestration scripts/jobs necessary for the provisioning and maintenance of servers and applications. Relevant servers could be physical or virtual, on-premise or in the cloud (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.), Red Hat and OEL or Microsoft Windows. Relevant applications/platforms include but are not limited to WebLogic / WebSphere Application Server / Java containers, Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle Database, Cache servers, Search engines (Endeca or equivalent), Applications running on Linux or Windows, etc. Automation and Orchestration tools would include but not be limited to Ansible, Jenkins, and Jira.
Perform internally generated research on new products and technologies related to automation and orchestration. Be automation and orchestration subject matter expert (SME) - assist IT personnel when required in a consulting capacity in order to ensure project success. This is accomplished through meeting set objectives, and mentoring other members of IT when it comes to automation and orchestration processes.
Responsible for partnering with the solutions engineering team in the execution of systems/platform build and deployment for new and existing initiatives as per Technical Services designs and guidelines. Solutions include research in best practices as well as pre and post implementation documentation as well as project execution, when required.
Responsible for providing estimates for projects/initiatives, tracking time, and communicating as it relates to assigned projects/initiatives.

What You'll Bring:
Degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
Ability to work as part of a team
Proven communication and technical writing skills
Ability to solve complex problems with minimal direction
Knowledge of service management processes (e.g. ITIL) is a plus
Knowledge working in an Agile environment is a plus
Ability to adapt, and work autonomously in a 24 x 7 global business
Expert in automating operational and provisioning tasks using various scripting languages such as Shell, Perl, Python, PowerShell, etc.
In depth understanding of DevOps tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, and Jira
System administration experience, preferably Red Hat, Oracle Enterprise Linux, or Windows
Java application server administration such as Tomcat, Weblogic, or WebSphere
Web server experience such as Apache, NGINX, IIS, or similar
Extensive experience with public cloud such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Services
Some experience with HTTP, TCP/IP, SMTP, DNS, SSH, Routing, Switching, Clustering, Load balancing, LAN
Good understanding of network/security systems and protocols
Excellent customer service, communication, and technical documentation skills
Experience with Docker or similar container technologies is a plus
This position requires a minimum of 6 years technology experience, and a minimum of 4 years automation experience. Qualified candidate is a hands-on technical J2EE applications, applications administrator, or systems administrator with proven scripting experience in project and/or production support roles in an enterprise environment.
Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.
