The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the month-end close and financial reporting processes, with significant focus on the accurate and timely reconciliation of cash and other balance sheet accounts. This role includes preparing journal entries, performing detailed financial analysis, and completing Hyperion close functions to ensure the integrity of monthly financial results. The Senior Accountant also supports quarterly reporting and audits by preparing schedules, assisting with audit requests, and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements, including researching and documenting variances against budget and forecast. Additionally, this position contributes to special projects, ad hoc reporting, and financial analysis while ensuring compliance with GAAP and maintaining effective internal controls, playing a key role in the consolidation and reporting of Travel + Leisure’s financial results prior to submission to corporate headquarters. This role is hybrid in office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and remote Thursday and Friday.
How You'll Shine:
Prepare and record journal entries in support of the monthly financial close, ensuring accuracy and compliance with the corporate closing schedule (including cash transfers, unclaimed property, closed locations, and AP reclasses).
Review and analyze financial results for assigned areas, including researching and preparing variance analysis for management.
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP, supported by clear analysis and reporting.
Perform Hyperion (HFM) close responsibilities, including reviewing and reconciling non-cash financial activity used in the Cash Flow Statement.
Prepare, review, and maintain general ledger account reconciliations and month-end schedules, resolving reconciling items and escalating exceptions as needed.
Communicate financial results and issues to management, support customer and AR inquiries, and assist with special projects, ad hoc reporting, and other assigned duties.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or progress toward certification preferred.
Working knowledge of GAAP and strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across all levels of the organization.
Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, multitask, and work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to identify, analyze, and escalate accounting or internal control issues to management as needed.
Flexible and adaptable, with a sense of urgency and ability to work in a diverse environment.
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (including formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP).
Experience with financial systems such as Oracle, Hyperion (HFM), or PeopleSoft, along with tools and platforms like SmartView, Snowflake, and Braintree, and experience using SQL for data analysis, preferred.
5 years of accounting experience in a month-end close/general ledger environment.
Timeshare industry experience preferred.
Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.
