The Senior Accountant position will assist the manager in team support and training along with reporting and deliverables. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for the month-end close process of assigned associations, ensuring that the balance sheet accounts are free from material misstatements, fairly represent its financial position and that tight deadlines are met. The candidate will review financial results and provide communication to management. May identify and implement necessary controls whereby ensuring the Company's financial statements are reported in conformity with GAAP. At times may also be involved in special projects, ad-hoc reporting, and other requests from the sales, marketing, corporate, resort management, and/or finance. The ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, be flexible and organized, and communicate in a clear and concise manner is extremely important. This role is hybrid in office Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and remote Thursday and Friday.
How You'll Shine:
Timely accurate recording of all entries prior to general ledger close in accordance with the corporate closing schedule
Ensures financial statements are presented timely to management in accordance with GAAP, accompanied by appropriate financial variance analysis.
Financial reporting, forecasting, & budgeting
Timely accurate preparation and/or review of assigned balance sheet reconciliations and/or month end schedules to include research & resolution of reconciling items with exceptions reported to management
Assist manager in reporting and assigned deliverables.
Prepare and review quarterly reporting schedules used for internal and external reporting.
Performs other duties as needed
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree (accounting)
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and the ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented atmosphere.
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner. Ability to work both independently and with peers.
Ability to develop and train staff
Excellent PC skills, particularly with MS Office and Excel (function formulas, pivot tables, linked spreadsheets).
PeopleSoft experience a plus.
3+ years’ experience in a month-end close environment to include: creating journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, budgeting and forecasting, along with comparative reporting and variance explanations.
Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in Lieu of the educational requirement
