The Recruiting Manager is responsible for the management of day to day operations of a team of high volume recruiters. This role takes a hands on approach, leading and carrying out recruiting efforts for the assigned area, working to define effective recruitment strategies and pipelines to access top level talent while ensuring that all subordinate recruiters are delivering timely and effective customer service and support to their clients.  This role supports the Business Unit (BU) Director of Recruiting in the development of targeted sourcing strategies along with the management of the talent attraction, interview and selection process for the BU’s positions.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Lead and carry out recruiting efforts, consulting with leadership, ensuring recruitment efforts are effectively developed, coordinated and implemented to identify, select, and hire high quality contact center, sales and marketing talent.  
  • Manage talent attraction efforts and job postings, working to identify targeted sourcing tools (ie. Internet, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), print advertising, publications, social media, sourcing vendors, community partnerships) and other means to generate applicant flow. Champion and promotes the employee referral program features and benefits through innovative measures. 
  • Conduct preliminary interviews with qualified candidates in accordance with company policy and employment law and coordinate follow up interviews through point of hire or disposition of candidate. Work closely with hiring managers and Human Resources to ensure hiring processes are being followed and that appropriate candidate profiles are being identified. 
  • Lead and manage recruitment team. Hire, develop, and retain staff through effective recruiting, on-boarding, and employee development. Coach, train and support all business leaders who serve as hiring managers on processes and selection practices to build effective recruiting operations at all resorts. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local colleges and community organizations in order to generate a qualified, diverse talent pool.  Plans and attends off-site job fairs and community networking events to promote social awareness of Travel + Leisure Co. 

 

Travel Requirements

~5% travel time required could be required at onboarding within the region to meet with recruiting staff, site leadership.  Must be able to travel infrequently outside of region for short durations (1-4 days) to attend corporate meetings.

 

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required or experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience providing accurate, timely data analysis to determine recruitment strategies
  • Able to take control of various situations independently as they arise.   
  • Able to manage multiple recruitment plans, assignments, and implement strategy in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to be objective by evaluating situations. 
  • Able to work with others and communicate effectively to all levels including executive.
  • Must be professional and possess a high level of confidentiality.  Demonstrated strong proactive recruiting, sourcing, interviewing, negotiating and networking skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.  Detail oriented with strong organization skills.
  • Strong presentation skills in front of groups.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability and ability to handle pressure.
  • Ability to influence and work within a matrixed organization.

 

Technical Skills

  • Demonstrated Advanced skills in MS Excel required
  • Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (Workday preferred)
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Tracking Systems
  • Intermediate PC skills (at least 5 years) in MS Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. Skills in MS SharePoint preferred

 

Job experience

  • Demonstrated experience leading a regionally dispersed remote recruiting team
  • 5+ years Exempt and/or Non-Exempt Recruiting various high-volume recruitment roles
  • Experience creating and managing staffing and workforce plans
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with business leaders and providing full life cycle recruiting for a variety of professionals including marketing, human resources, communications, technology, finance, and other business service groups

 

Complexity

  • This position has a high level of decision making authority and will often advise & consult with Recruiting Managers and Directors
  • This position has a high level of autonomy and must be able to work independently most of the time
  • This position has the ability to make or influence decisions which could have significant impact to the company and business in a variety of ways.  Failure to ensure legal requirements are met could negatively impact the company.
  • This position partners with Accounts Payable to ensure the Staffing team acts in a financially responsible manner to support and maintain budgets.  Staffing related expenses that hit the hiring manager budgets are properly maintained, supported and accounted for within guidelines.
  • This position will maintain partnerships with:
    • EVP, SVP’s and VP’s of HR
    • SVPs, VPs, Directors, Managers and Supervisors
    • Learning & Development Team
    • HR Associates across Travel + Leisure Co.
    • Travel + Leisure Co. Staffing Teams
