The Compensation Analyst supports the design, analysis, and administration of the organization’s compensation programs. This role partners HR and business leaders to ensure pay practices are competitive, equitable, and aligned with organizational strategy. The analyst conducts market analysis, evaluates internal pay structures, and provides data-driven insights to support compensation decisions.
How You'll Shine:
Compensation Analysis & Benchmarking
- Conduct market pricing using external salary surveys (e.g., Radford, Mercer, Willis Towers Watson).
- Analyze compensation data to assess market competitiveness and internal equity.
- Prepare benchmarking reports and recommendations for base salary, incentive plans, and total rewards.
Job Evaluation & Structure Management
- Evaluate new and existing roles, ensuring proper job leveling and alignment with internal frameworks.
- Maintain and update salary structures, job grades, and pay ranges.
- Support job architecture initiatives and ensure consistency in role classification.
Compensation Programs Administration
- Assist in the annual compensation cycle (merit, bonus, equity planning).
- Provide guidance to HR Business Partners and managers on compensation policies and practices.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations (e.g., FLSA, pay transparency laws).
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Develop and maintain compensation dashboards, reports, and analytics.
- Perform trend analysis to identify risks, gaps, or opportunities in pay practices.
- Support pay equity analysis and remediation efforts.
Process & System Support
- Maintain compensation data integrity in HRIS systems.
- Participate in system enhancements and process improvements related to compensation.
- Document procedures and support audit requests as needed.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, Finance, Business, or related field
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or progress toward certification preferred
- Possesses solid knowledge of compensation practices, market trends, and regulatory considerations.
- Applies strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills to interpret data and develop recommendations.
- Communicates complex compensation concepts in a clear, concise, and stakeholder‑appropriate manner.
- Demonstrates sound judgment and decision‑making within established frameworks.
- Builds effective partnerships and influences stakeholders through data‑driven insights.
- Manages multiple priorities with strong organization and time management skills.
- Exercises discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive compensation information.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, modeling) to analyze compensation data and develop insights.
- Leverages HRIS, compensation management systems (e.g., Workday), and survey platforms to conduct job pricing and market analysis.
- Independently conducts benchmarking, pay equity analysis, and compensation modeling.
- Develops and automates reports and dashboards to support decision‑making.
- Interprets complex datasets and translates findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Minimum two years of relevant experience in compensation, total rewards, finance, HR analytics, or a related discipline.
Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.
