How You'll Shine
The Rooms Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the resort's Guest Services function, with additional oversight responsibility for Engineering/Maintenance operations. The scope of the role includes involvement in overseeing all administrative, accounting, guest service, and engineering/maintenance functions, along with associate development and other duties as required across both disciplines. This is an oversight and administrative role — hands-on technical or trade expertise is not required, but the Rooms Supervisor must be comfortable managing the day-to-day rhythm of engineering operations alongside Guest Services. The Rooms Supervisor will ensure successful implementation and performance of standards, meet the needs of owners, cover varying schedules and forecasts, participate in daily inspections to ensure standards, train staff on all ROPs/DOPs standards for both departments, and support the selection and development of associates across both teams.
How You'll Make an Impact
Ensure proper staffing and scheduling for maximum productivity across Guest Services and Engineering/Maintenance
Control payroll costs to achieve maximum profitability
Communicate priorities to staff through daily and weekly meetings
Ensure guest satisfaction levels meet site goals
Identify areas of process improvement for efficient team and guest processing
Manage strict room inventory to achieve the highest possible occupancy percentage
Manage guest accounts, ensuring correct rates are applied, rate authorizations are obtained where necessary, and payment is received
Review incoming groups to ensure blocking needs and front office requirements are met, relaying information to appropriate staff
Ensure all guest resolutions are achieved and concerns are responded to
Own and manage the Internal Audit process
Ensure departmental compliance with Quality Assurance, Loss Prevention, and safety standards across both Guest Services and Engineering/Maintenance
Provide day-to-day administrative oversight of the Engineering/Maintenance function, coordinating with the Engineering Manager/Assistant Manager and Engineering Technicians as needed — no hands-on technical work required
Maintain inventory across both Guest Services supplies and Engineering/Maintenance parts and materials
Build and maintain strong vendor/contractor relationships; request and receive bids for presentation to resort management
Maintain a working knowledge of HOA requirements as they relate to engineering/maintenance and guest services operations
Manage and support all financial aspects of both departments
Prepare the annual department budget, identifying areas of cost reduction, operational improvement, and variance explanation
Maintain cost control and appearance of retail inventory
What You'll Bring
Strong leadership skills (ability to effectively coach, mentor, and train staff)
Strategic thinking
2 to 5 years of hotel/resort experience
Excellent communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook
Comfort overseeing engineering/maintenance operations at an administrative level — technical or trade certification not required
Familiarity with vendor/contractor coordination and basic HOA considerations a plus
