The IT Infrastructure Engineer II acts as technical subject matter expert for day-to-day activities (plan, design, configure) related to technology deployments for WVO sites and facilities (fulfillment) projects. Has direct contact with the project management and technology project and supports teams ensuring WVO technology requirements and integration dependencies are understood and incorporated into execution plans.
How You'll Shine:
Directly involved in the technical delivery components related to planning, installation (as needed), testing, deployment, and support (escalation of issues not resolved at first or second level) of all site technologies. This includes the integration of multiple technologies which facilitate site operations functions
Works directly with IT and business project managers to assist in executing against approved fulfillment project plans and financial forecasts for the delivery of technical solutions to the business
Performs due diligence assessments on proposed projects to determine technical requirements and points of integration. Actively participates in the estimation processes utilizing due diligence assessment for approved projects in the site/facility technology space
Works with the IT Site Infrastructure/Operations Manager, project managers, and business sponsors to assess and adjust project priorities as needed to meet the overall needs of the organization
Works with all technical teams to map technical integration points and ensure proper support documentation is in place
Performs other duties as needed
Travel Requirements:
20 - 25%. Travel would be required as needed to facilitate site due diligence assessments and to address any escalated support issues which required hands on resolution. Travel could be to any of the current locations where Wyndham resorts, sales offices, or call centers are located
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree in related field (preferably engineering) or equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
Solid customer service skills
Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
Organizational, analytical, and problem determination/resolution skills
Ability to assess status and prioritize multiple concurrent projects at the task level
Ability to work in a team structure, driving to aggressive deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment amongst IT professionals
Ability to communicate technical concepts and subjects in a clear and concise manner
Ability to work and effectively communicate with executives, enterprise-wide and business unit management personnel, peers, and outside vendors
Moderate level client/server architectural understanding
Moderate level network and telecommunications architectural understanding
Basic level of software development techniques and methodologies.
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite of products; MS Office, Visio and Project
Capable of reviewing construction documents to the level of communicating technology infrastructure requirements.
5+ years of work experience in a medium to large diverse in-depth, enterprise-wide technical environment integrating, implementing and supporting technologies, specifically around network and telecommunication and client/server integration.
2+ years of work experience in a medium to large technical environment supporting software development and the deployment of business software applications
Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement
