PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

At Travel & Leisure Co., our vision is to put the World on Vacation, in your position as the Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Producing accurate and timely management and statistical reports reflecting the performance of the Resort.
  • Ensuring tight financial controls are maintained in accordance with group policies, procedures and accounting practices of the Manager.
  • Actively contributing to the financial performance of the resort.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (Include but not limited to:)

  • Oversee daily banking, petty cash management, and cashier float controls.
  • Maintain daily cashbook updates, bank reconciliations, Opera Day-end close reports, and subsidiary ledger reconciliations (AR, AP, guest and deposit ledgers).
  • Actively complete General Ledger reconciliations within required timeframes.
  • Assist in preparation of month-end reports, annual budgets, and annual external audits.
  • Ensure internal controls are implemented and operating effectively to safeguard resort assets and financial performance.
  • Prepare and lodge monthly statutory returns including VAT, FBT, and other applicable taxes via the FRCS Portal.
  • Ensure full compliance with Travel + Leisure policies, Workplace Health & Safety requirements, and all reasonable management instructions.
  • Review daily Food & Beverage revenues, voids, and anomalies in collaboration with the Cost Controller.
  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc audits of food and beverage sales dockets.
  • Coordinate and oversee end-of-month stock takes with Department Managers and Purchasing.
  • Reconcile all subsidiary ledgers including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, guest ledger and deposit ledgers.
  • Assist with annual external audits.
  • Assist in preparation of the month end reports and annual budget.
  • Actively complete assigned General Ledger Reconciliations within timeframe.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures relating to Workplace Health and Safety ensuring the safety of yourself and all other people who may be affected by your conduct in the workplace.
  • Actively contribute to ensuring internal controls are in place and working effectively to protect and contribute to the financial performance of the Resort.
  • Employees must ensure they comply with WDAP’s OH&S Policy, procedures and any reasonable instruction given by WDAP.
  • Employees must not willfully place at risk the health and safety of themselves or any other persons in the workplace and to not willfully or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided for health and safety.
  • Display Hospitality with HEART service to all internal and external parties.

KEY POSITION CRITERIA:

  • Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within hospitality or resort operations
  • Strong understanding of statutory reporting and compliance requirements in Fiji
  • Experience working with PMS systems
  • High attention to detail, strong reconciliation skills, and the ability to meet deadlines
  • A team-focused mindset with a passion for service excellence and continuous improvement
  • Valid driver’s license
