We are seeking an experienced Consumer Lending Supervisor to join our team!

The Consumer Lending Supervisor will lead the Consumer Lending function, overseeing lending operations, compliance, and team development. This role is pivotal in ensuring efficient processes, regulatory adherence, and exceptional customer experiences while driving business growth.
 

How You’ll Shine

1. Leadership & Strategic Oversight

  • Lead, coach, and develop team leaders and senior lending officers to achieve performance goals.
  • Set clear expectations and monitor KPIs, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.

2. Risk Management & Credit Oversight

  • Oversee credit assessment processes and ensure adherence to risk appetite and policy.
  • Review escalated or complex applications and provide final decision-making support.
  • Identify emerging risks and implement mitigation strategies.

3. Operational Excellence

  • Streamline lending operations to improve turnaround times and service quality.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of worklists and reporting obligations.
  • Drive process improvements and system enhancements in collaboration with internal stakeholders.

4. Regulatory Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure full compliance with NCCP, AML, Privacy Act, and other applicable legislation.
  • Maintain audit readiness and lead internal and external audit engagements.
  • Provide training and guidance to ensure team awareness of regulatory obligations.

5. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Liaison, and Admin teams to ensure seamless customer experiences.
  • Represent the Consumer Lending team in cross-functional initiatives and leadership forums.
  • Provide regular updates and insights to senior management.

6. People Development & Culture

  • Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and career development planning.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performance team culture.
  • Support cross-training and succession planning within the team.

What You Will Bring

  • Extensive experience in Consumer Lending, Credit Underwriting, or Financial Services
  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams and driving performance
  • Strong knowledge of NCCP, AML, and Privacy Act
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure
  • High attention to detail and commitment to compliance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and lending systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence across levels
