The Manager, Creative Operations, is a strategic and operational leader responsible for managing the end-to-end workflow of creative projects across marketing and brand teams. This role oversees project intake, resource planning, traffic management, and process optimization to ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality creative work. As the central hub between creative, marketing, and cross-functional stakeholders, the Manager drives collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence to support business and brand goals.
This individual plays a key leadership role in building scalable systems, managing creative bandwidth, and fostering a high-performing creative production environment.
How You'll Shine:
- Owns the development and optimization of creative workflows, timelines, and schedules across departments. Ensures appropriate resourcing and project prioritization to meet deadlines and brand standards. Leads production planning and resource allocation across creative disciplines.
- Manages the intake and scoping of creative requests, ensures briefs meet quality standards, and routes work appropriately through project management systems (e.g., Jira, Robohead, Workfront). Owns project tracking and job assignments across in-house and freelance teams.
- Serves as the point of escalation for traffic and resourcing issues. Facilitates cross-functional alignment between marketing, creative, digital, and production teams. Provides mentorship to coordinators or junior project team members.
- Leads reporting on project status, team bandwidth, and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to creative throughput and efficiency. Develops dashboards or reports for leadership visibility.
- Owns the planning and facilitation of creative workflow meetings including kickoffs, standups, and reviews. Sets agendas, drives alignment, and ensures follow-through on action items.
- Identifies and implements improvements to systems, workflows, and tooling to enhance efficiency, quality, and scale. Champions best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Design Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
- Proven ability to manage large-scale creative workflows across digital, print, and multimedia channels.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with confidence in cross-functional collaboration.
- Experience managing project portfolios and resource planning across multiple campaigns or product lines.
- Deep experience with project management platforms (e.g., Jira, Workfront, Robohead, Asana, Wrike)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); familiarity with Figma or Adobe Creative Suite a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in project management demonstrating strong understanding of project management best practices.
- 2+ years in a creative operations, traffic, or project coordination role within a creative studio, agency, or in-house brand team.
- Familiarity with creative workflows, design/production timelines, and cross-functional collaboration.
Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.
