PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (Include but not limited to:)

• Overseeing; monitoring and approving or referring lending proposals to ensure adherence to credit policies
• Organizing the teams daily work to ensure timely and accurate processing of loan applications
• Assisting and encouraging the development of objectives, strategies and plans aimed at achieving customer satisfaction and the efficient use of resources in the department
• Undertaking and overseeing credit checks and risk analysis in the department
• Analyzing and  evaluating current systems and structures for assessing the customer’s credit worthiness and establishing/maintaining of the customer’s credit limits
• Ensuring daily workflow and timelines are achieved with accuracy
• Evaluate, assess and provide feedback on financing for finance application
• Record and analyze  business unit records, charts  and manuals on loan portfolios
• Ensure timely processing of all applications and contracts
• Develop and train team
• Make outbound calls and take escalations as needed
• Comply with relevant legislation including and not limited to Privacy Act; NCCP & AML
• Analyze existing and proposed methods and procedures in the consumer finance business unit to proactively develop new ways to increase efficiency and streamline processes
• Develop financial models incorporating key business drivers guidelines
• Management of the month end process ensuring all aspects are considered and able to prepare, execute, review and analyze month end results including key drivers, trends and KPI's
• Ensure the robustness and integrity of data provided
• Review and verification of financial results
• Provide key business insights to leadership team through analysis of data
• Execute ad-hoc requests for analysis through the team to service key stakeholders  
• Oversee technical and other projects and business system enhancements including testing, project planning, organizing and planning for subject matter expert involvement and drive through to completion
• Investigate and resolve issues that arise
• Ensure all audit requirements are met
• Maintain resources in line with budget
• Direct the department and its clients towards more efficient processes by developing, monitoring and evaluating performance standards and solutions  
• Performance development, management and review of the staff
• Adhere to all policies and procedures relating to Workplace Health and Safety ensuring the safety of yourself and all other people who may be effected by your conduct in the workplace

KEY POSITION CRITERIA:

• Experience in credit underwriting / loan assessing making decisions in the Consumer Credit sector
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills included ability to problem solve and improve processes
• Solid understanding & experience in financial services industry
• Previous experience managing / supervising staff
• Experience in transactions which give rise to credit risk
• An understanding of the regulatory credit risk framework under NCCP & ACL or willingness to learn
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills
• Demonstrable use of reporting and analytical tools including MS Excel, Access
• High level interpersonal and communication skills
• Flexible, adaptable and able to prioritize work
• Intermediate level Microsoft Office
• Ability to manage the process of a high number of applications accurately and within timelines
