TRYP by Wyndham Pulteney Street Adelaide opened in 2023 and is on the search for a Bar Manager to lead our kitchen team.

Perfectly situated in the heart of Adelaide’s Central Business District, home to many of the city’s top attractions, TRYP Hotel Adelaide is a stunningly modern top-of-the-line 120 room hotel with an upbeat culture and an eye-catching design. The hotel features Z Kitchen in the foyer of the hotel opening for breakfast and lunch, café style during the day and a touch of Mexican in the evenings for dinner. TRYP Bar on level one of the hotel features Mexican Tapas Cuisine and a balcony overlooking Pulteney Street. It is the newest place to be seen for a social night out!  The Bar also caters for private events.

How You’ll Shine

The Bar Manager will be responsible for managing the day to day operation of the Beverage outlets, including recruitment, training of all new and existing staff, rostering staff and managing floor staff during a function. You will also be responsible for the following:

• Open/Closing of Bar Operations
• Customer service, use of POS
• Lead a team of staff and coordinate breaks
• Be responsible for staff performance and delivery of product and service quality
• Prepare weekly schedules for bartender, barback and server staff to adequately cover all shifts. Provide for coverage in case of employee absence and adjust staffing as necessary to meet business demands.
• Monitor inventory of beverages to ensure adequate stock is maintained and to prevent excess pours or abuse by staff. Requisition purchases as needed.
• Ensure all preparation, cleaning and maintenance schedules are completed on a daily basis
• Cleaning and closing of store, including reconciliation of sales and banking

We are looking for the "hand on personality" not just the experience, if you have a back ground as a Bar Manager and most importantly, the Gen X / Y personality then we are looking for you!

What You’ll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will be:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Bar Manager, or similar Food and Beverage Operation role.
• Career orientated/focused with strong attention to personal development
• Comprehensive knowledge of beverage and bar industry, mixology and stock control process
• Knowledge of local and national regulations related to alcohol service and heath code compliance.
• Excellent Team Management and development skills
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles, personnel management, and marketing
• Ability to work productively in a fast paced, changing workplace.
• A “can do” attitude to extra roles and responsibilities
• Cocktail Creation and/or Mixology Experience
• Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification
• Knowledge and understanding of OH&S and chemical handing
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, public and school holidays.
• Be a real 'people person' and genuinely enjoy getting to know people
• Ability to start immediately
