We are seeking a Director - IT DevOps Delivery & Applications Platform COE to establish a Center of Excellence (COE) focused on DevOps for Application Delivery and software engineering best practices for coding standards and cloud-based application delivery. The Director will be passionate about DevOps software delivery and embrace infrastructure as code, CI/CD, configuration management and process improvement of efficiencies through software engineering coding standards and delivery best practices. The Director will have experience collaborating to produce high performing and maintainable solutions. As the Director, you will be working with other Senior IT leaders to shape the DevOps Application Delivery COE strategy and roadmap. You will collaborate with Application Delivery Leaders to create software engineering best practices through coding and delivery standards to ensure stable release and run time of multiple revenue generating applications, continuously improving and optimizing through automation. You will provide hands on guidance, coaching, and mentoring for global Delivery teams as we build, evolve, and scale our solutions to meet our growing business.

In this role, you will be tasked with integrating the tools, services and process changes necessary to establish a DevOps, CI/CD and Configuration COE. A programming background with delivery of cloud-based applications, continuous integration experience and a passion for automation is essential. The Director will partner with cross-functional stakeholders across Application Delivery Teams, IT Operations, Release Management, Program Management and QA to lead the DevOps and Application Delivery COE. Additional responsibilities include working with IT Leadership in preparing and gaining approval for the portion of the IT budget that covers the application delivery automation, and then taking primary responsibility for managing that budget.

How You'll Shine:

  • Establish the Application Delivery COE to set DevOps, CI/CD, configuration management, coding standards and cloud-based delivery standards and processes. Hire, coach and mentor a team of subject matter experts (SME) for achieving operational excellence. Lead team of DevOps and CI/CD engineers and promote a COE knowledge-sharing culture across the Application Delivery department.
  • Partner with the VP of Application Development and Delivery in improving the build-deploy capabilities associated with CI/CD and associated DevOps standards improving the software engineering tools & processes. Build, manage and advance our CI/CD pipelines and processes for application delivery. Build and deploy applications using Containers, Kubernetes and server-less technologies
  • Partner with QMO and Application Delivery to integrate activities with business units and other IT departments to ensure the successful deployment and support of project efforts. Integrate and partner with other cross-functional Application Delivery teams to increase reliability and efficiency across the entire App Dev organization.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve the building, packaging, and application delivery processes. Create metrics, reports, and dashboards, and review with teams and management to analyze status, trends, areas of strength, and opportunities for improvement. Continually evolve the speed of delivery, reliability and scalability of SaaS software delivery platform
  • Act as general expert within the IT organization to develop appropriate DevOps COE standards and support for projects from various technology and service departments. Create a high performance and collaborative team environment. Deliver visionary solutions to automate the processes involved procuring environment builds per requirements
  • Travel:  5-10%.  Travel to different business units or sites may be necessary.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Business, Engineering or related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Strong project management skills: ability to analyze project needs and determine resources needed to meet objectives
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate and persuade at all management levels and thrive in a cross-functional environment
  • Knowledge of the company’s business practices and direction, as well as familiarity with the company’s technologies and resources
  • Able to collaborate across organizations with all levels of leadership to develop plans, strategies, and establish priorities.
  • Experience with build configuration management and Deployment optimization
  • Able to learn new emerging technologies quickly and apply innovative ideas to resolve problems
  • Significant experience in one or more application development Frameworks: .NET, AngularJS, Bootstrap, J2EE, Spring, Struts
  • Experience with Code Quality tools such as SonarQube, Qualys, Veracode
  • Experience with CICD for Java, DB/PLSQL, Oracle Fusion, Apigee, .NET etc.
  • Experience with architecting and automating cloud native technologies, deploying applications, and provisioning infrastructure.
  • Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing and horizontal scalability.
  • Familiarity with SOX/PCI and similar compliance protocols
  • Strong automation skills and experience with CI/CD Orchestration tools, such as Jenkins, Bamboo, other.
  • Experience with microservices and distributed applications, building applications using Containers with technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and/or serverless technology.
  • Experience using Configuration Management platforms (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Saltstack, Ansible).
  • Experience with Test Automation tools such as Selenium, ReadyAPI, Postman
  • Familiarity with Deployment & Server Monitoring tools such as Splunk, DataDog, Sense
  • Experience with code repositories such as Git, Bitbucket, Github, etc.
  • Experience using AppDynamics for full-stack application performance management
  • 8+ years in software delivery management and execution involving multiple major development projects
  • 5 years leading teams for end-to-end DevOps Application Build COE across hybrid infrastructure, virtualization, containerization and serverless application environments
  • 5 years delivering cloud-based applications with one or more IaC cloud-based technologies: AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager, Google Cloud Deployment Manager
  • 3 years leading Agile teams to implement multi-technology CI/CD pipelines
  • 5 years of software development or application engineering in languages using AngularJS, PowerShell, JavaScript, Java
  • 5+ years of management experience in which one or more of the following has occurred:
    • Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management
    • Successful development and implementation of applications in new computing architecture environments using new and emerging technologies
    • A track record of managing technical staff through various life-cycle phases (cross-functional experience highly desirable)
    • Demonstrated leadership of multidisciplinary, high-performance work groups
    • Developed efficient and effective solutions to complex business problems

Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.
