Housekeeping Lead

Supports general resort operations and housekeeping functions by effectively assisting in the supervision of Housekeeping staff and by maintaining resort quality standards.

The Housekeeping Lead is responsible for overseeing the cleaning of guestrooms by the Housekeeping staff. He/she is also responsible for ensuring that rooms are maintained to set standards of cleanliness and are ready in a timely manner for guest accommodations.

How You'll Shine                                                                                

Prepares units for cleaning, using the WorldMark method as outlined in the Resort Operating Standards.

Quality checks units after cleaning, replacing inventory as needed and ensuring Resort Operating Standards are met.

Cleans resort units to include sleeping quarters, kitchens, bathrooms and living rooms.

Assists with basic administrative and supervisory departmental tasks in the absence of Housekeeping Manager and Supervisor.

Reports maintenance problems within units using the work order system.

Maintains and adheres to housekeeping detail standards.           

Responds efficiently and courteously to guest service requests.

• Assist the Housekeeping Management team with daily housekeeping functions of training, coaching, and developing the housekeeping staff.            
• Performs all duties of a Housekeeper as outlined in housekeeping job description.
• Will act as coordinator between all departments to ensure rooms are prepared for arrivals, and work closely with housekeeping staff to ensure work is accurate and following appropriate schedules as assigned.  
• Prepare daily work orders for housekeepers and maintenance staff and follow progress to completion.       

• Assist with inventory and purchasing process to ensure adequate replacement of supplies.

• Bilingual is a plus.

Uses job skills to contribute in development of concepts and techniques, and to complete tasks in creative and effective ways. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the group to ensure a smooth workflow while performing similar duties and tasks as the group.  Performs work in compliance with established procedures and/or protocols.

Technical Skills:  Preferred computer skills including Word and Excel. Job experience:  One year housekeeping experience required.  Previous supervisory experience preferred.  Typically more then (3) years of related work experience.

Works on assignments that are complex in nature where independent action and a high degree of initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations. Level of autonomy (supervision received) Impact of decisions on business operations is minimal. Supervises 5 – 10 employees engaged in unit preparation, cleaning and inspecting.  May provide general guidance to others and train lower level employees.  Typically supervises 2 or more employees as a working lead.

Compensation

Generally starting at $27.00 - $27.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate of the candidate(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, education, skills, training, and work location.
