The Senior Designer, User Experience (UX) will provide key internal clients broad user experience expertise, and design innovative, engaging and effective digital experiences. The designer will need to possess the ability to think strategically and create vision, communicate such vision effectively, have experience leading both cross functional teams and a team of designers, have deep knowledge of interaction, information and visual design principles, offer hands-on design skills at the expert level and can coach stakeholders in user-centered design best practices, processes and creating vision.
Their expertise will support a range of agile projects and provide UX solutions that enhance all projects that our teams develop, as well as balancing user needs against business goals and technology capabilities.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead cross functional teams to deliver projects in order to meet business goals and objectives
Align individual project business requirements with overall UX strategy ensuring branding consistency
Lead cross-functional teams in identifying the right tools needed to collaborate and deliver UX
Work closely with business partners to develop scenarios, personas, storyboards, user journeys and user experience and design recommendations to meet the goals of the organization
Work closely with other more junior designers and provide guidance tools, strategy execution and cross project alignment
Perform heuristic site evaluations and competitive site analysis
Create and revise information architecture documents including but not limited to: site maps, user profiles, user scenarios, use cases, wireframes, content matrices, flow diagrams/process maps, and detailed user interface specifications
Uses a variety of design tools (Sketch, Adobe XD, Axure, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) to craft an effective approach, estimate, and plan in response to design requests.
Collaborate with key project team members, including visual designers, product managers and technology leads to deliver end-to-end solutions
Cultivate knowledge of user experience best practices and implement solutions based on the unique project needs
Able to clearly articulate the basis of design decisions to stakeholders and respond effectively to feedback
Travel Requirements
5-10% travel may be needed to various offices for cross functional meetings, collaboration and strategy planning
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, User Experience Design, or closely related field
Knowledge and skills
Ability to lead cross functional teams
Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the business
Ability to strategize with members at all levels throughout the organization
Expert in developing wireframes, site maps, user journeys
Expert in documenting work including annotations, prototypes, functional specifications
Experience using lean/agile product development models
Ability to interface with development teams to ensure design delivery meets high quality standards
Effectively act on internal feedback, user testing results and learnings to iterate designs that deliver more value for the user and business
Previous experience with workshops - facilitation and/or planning
Strong presentation skills in explaining interactions, scenarios and story boards
Experience facilitating or assisting user research and user testing – and subsequently identifying user needs, actions, behaviors and emotions through research
Technical Skills
Skilled in prototyping with one or more tools such as Framer, Flinto, or Invision
Expert in design utilizing Sketch
Job Experience
Minimum five (5) years interaction experience in either product related or agency environments designing consumer facing applications, websites and mobile experiences
Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.
