Sr. Manager – IT Shared Application activities in a business unit/group/area/function/program. Manages staff, assigning work and evaluating results. Responsible for the performance, functionality, and reliability of enterprise applications, both SaaS based and on-premise.  Supports the development of unit/group/area/function/program budget, operating policies, and procedures.  The Manager works with multiple teams both within and outside of IT.  The Manager works closely with the IT Service Delivery, IT Infrastructure, and IT Architecture management teams to help formulate and recommend technology plans/strategies and priorities for the enterprise applications by analyzing and understanding the current and future application needs that keep pace with business demands.

This project management professional, provides consistent innovative and high quality solution leadership.

 

The Manager will:

  • Be responsible for driving the successful implementation of non-routine and complex business solutions, ensuring high quality and timely delivery within budget to the internal customer’s satisfaction.  
  • Analyze business needs and improve key business processes to help ensure the solution meets the objectives by combining industry best practices and product knowledge.  
  • Establish and maintain positive business relationships with managers and staff in their functional areas, demonstrate a thorough understanding of the business, processes and priorities. The position will work with business process owners to identify and present/drive solutions to enable business process improvements and serve as trusted advisor and subject matter expert. 
  • Be responsible for adherence to operational policies and achievement of portfolio performance to support the business plan. Responsible for solution and estimating delivery effort and cost.

 

This role will focus predominantly on application project/enhancement delivery with a lesser focus on production support oversight. Leads new implementation and upgrade projects managing all phases/activities of SDLC, functional configurations, design, development and implementation deliverables.

As a people manager, the role will establish and maintain positive business relationships with managers and staff in their functional areas, demonstrating a thorough understanding of the business, their processes, and their priorities, and ensures that system functionality and performance meet current and future business requirements. Manages staff and/or supervisors, assigning work, monitoring activities and evaluating performance. Manages escalated/critical issues. Administers employment actions, provides coaching and guidance to staff and promotes staff training and development. Supports the development of unit/group/area/function/program budget, policies and procedures. May coordinate work of outside vendors and contractors.

Leads work activities of the business unit/group/area/function/program, planning and organizing work, providing for adequate staffing and resources and maintaining work on schedule so that ongoing customer satisfaction is maintained.

Identifies and implements strategies and efficiencies to enhance customer experience and align with business operations.

Communicates with other related departments to coordinate work and resolve issues as needed. Provides internal and/or external customer feedback and leads/participates in teams related to new or ongoing project work and other areas as needed.

Leads/contributes to process/other improvements based on evaluation of existing procedures and business needs. Utilizes data, metrics and system tools to ensure efficiency and to maximize customer experience. Identifies problems, obstacles and opportunities and proactively acts to address issues. Strives for continuous improvement.

Prepares reports and other information summarizing work activities and reports results to peer groups as well as senior management. Prepares various analyses as needed to highlight issues and resolve questions.

   

Essential Job Functions

  • Experience with ServiceNow Platform (ITSM, CMDB, Discovery, API development for integrations, Service Portal, Catalog), SharePoint On-Premise, Office 365 (including SharePoint and all PowerPlatform services), ITIL best practices, Kronos Time Clocks, cloud SaaS based applications preferred.
  • Management of team’s skills and ability.
  • Self-directed leader with a proven record of success with a blend of technology and business expertise.
  • Must have project leadership skills including resource management, project planning and tracking, estimating, risk analysis, sponsor relations, status communication, problem identification and resolution.
  • Hands-on, proven expertise and experience with implementations and application support, including off the shelf and SaaS based applications.  Infrastructure background with both cloud and on-premise technologies preferred, ServiceNow, Office 365, AWS, Azure, Kronos 
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and direct work activities.
  • Reasoning, problem solving and analytical skills to resolve issues.
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Cloud infrastructure migration project management experienced desired
  • Experience managing onshore and offshore consultants
  • Demonstrated ability to follow solid project management principles and successfully manage ServiceNow intake and production deployments
  • Comfortable working in a matrix management environment.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills to deal with internal stakeholders, customers, and business partners.
  • At-least 6 years with ServiceNow enhancement deliverables as well as SharePoint Online development
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow Platform, including but not limited too, ITSM, CMDB, Discovery, Asset Management, Change Management, API integration development, process design, UI/UX user self-service portal
  • Demonstrated ability to follow solid project management principles and successfully manage projects of increasing complexity.
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills to deal with internal stakeholders, customers, and vendors.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of users and subject matter experts.
  • Must continually seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
