The Sr. Engineer, Applications will be responsible for the end to end delivery and support of applications within the Shared Applications Group. The Sr. Engineer, Applications will maintain positive business relationships with managers and staff in their functional areas and demonstrate a thorough understanding of the business, processes and priorities. The position will work with business process owners to identify, design and present/drive solutions to enable business process improvements and serve as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert.
 

The Sr. Engineer, Applications will provide exemplary business consultation services relating to a wide variety of initiatives from application enhancements to new application roll outs, to include: analysis, planning, development, testing, and implementation for small to medium projects; providing production support responsibilities to include troubleshooting issues, user training, administration and SDLC process documentation for Incident and Change Management; and Networking with clients and teammates to build and sustain relationships.

How You'll Shine:

  • Working with extended IT team to coordinate application rollouts, upgrades, patches, and resolving any cross functional issues;
  • Providing User Support and training for existing applications;
  • Engaging in out of-the-box thinking to provide high value to customers;
  • Working with customers to identify and document business requirements;
  • Providing technical specifications, design and test plans and implementation strategies;
  • Researching and evaluating alternative technical solutions and recommending the most efficient, cost-effective and innovative application solutions;
  • Developing, testing, and implementing custom, reusable code;
  • Development of Commercial Off The Shelf, Software as a Service and custom developed applications;
  • Rotational 24x7 production support responsibilities in support of Commercial off the Shelf, Software as a Service and custom developed applications;
  • Communicating regularly with management on incidents and project initiatives;
  • Adherence to incident management process (includes, incident creation/update/closure, RCA and action item follow-up); and performing other duties as assigned;
  • Adherence to SDLC and the ability to lead small and medium projects through the various stages from requirements need through design, build, testing, and delivery, ensuring that goals or objectives are met according to the business needs;
  • Participating in business and technical reviews and provide insights, feedback, and recommendations;
  • Working with other internal/external technical teams in the development of detailed technical specifications, test plans and implementation strategies;
  • Testing and installation of new software, service packs, cumulative updates;
  • Maintaining documentation, including Governance, coding standards, procedures and process definitions;
  • Communicating regularly and working closely with Management, IT project managers, database administrators and developers regarding the status of incidents and project initiatives;
  • Proactively assess and optimize security and performance in all areas of the applications and across all servers;
  • Plan for migration to future versions of any relevant products in the technology stack;
  • Work with software vendor support to resolve product related issues and escalate as necessary within the Vendor’s Critical Accounts contact;
  • Drive critical discussions on functional process changes, and present findings and key metrics in formal presentations with business counterparts;
  • Conduct feasibility and cost analysis studies for applicable enhancements and new initiatives;
  • Liaise with end-users on clarification of incidents/problems and provide impact analysis when applicable;
  • Work closely with end users to identify and explain process and data discrepancies;
  • Manage service improvement initiatives with Business Super Users, internal IT and project teams and vendors in identifying and leading evolutions in system performance, availability, and data quality;
  • Actively participate in application upgrades, fully understand new and enhanced functionality delivered by the upgrade; become familiar with the upgrade test scripts, and provide reliable post-upgrade support;
  • Maintain a current knowledge of all Shared Applications/modules used by Travel & Leisure Co.;
  • Participate in meetings to determine business needs, develop technical specifications and design solutions based on module capabilities;
  • Research and provide recommendations on applications that will solve business problems or gaps identified following system upgrades;
     Identify additional opportunities to enhance the alignment of business processes and application capabilities;
  • Analyze applications to ensure maximum utilization of features for all users.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor of Computer Engineering or Computer Science. Master of Computer Science or Engineering preferred;
  • Hands-on, proven expertise and experience with implementations and application support, including off the shelf and SaaS based applications.  Infrastructure background with both cloud and on premise technologies preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience with ServiceNow Platform: ITSM, ITBM, ITOM, CMDB, Discovery, API development for integrations, Integration Hub, Service Portal, Catalog Performance Analytics, Virtual Agent, Automated Test Framework
  • 3-5 years’ experience with SharePoint On-Premise, Office 365 including SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, One Drive, MS Teams;
  • 3-5 years’ experience with Robotic Process Automation Tools such as Automation Anywhere, UiPath, Blue Prism, Kryon;
  • 3-5 years’ coding experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, MS SQL, PowerShell. Glide script, ADO .Net, CSOM, ITIL best practices, cloud SaaS based applications preferred;
  • 3-5 years’ experience with Clarity, Integrify, Costar, FM system applications;
  • 3-5 years’ experience supporting Commercial off the Shelf Applications and SaaS Applications;
  • 3-5 years’ experience in managing small to medium-sized projects;
  • 3-5 years of experience with SQL Reporting;
  • 3-5 years of experience developing and supporting .NET applications using such technologies as VB.NET, JavaScript, JQUERY, and SQL Server;
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and direct work activities;
  • Excellent customer service and business relationship-building skills required;
  • Strong functional, analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience managing onshore and offshore consultants within a 24/7 support model;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
