The Senior Designer will work closely with the product and development teams. Their primary goals will be to lead the design effort for new products, update existing designs, and support other design projects to meet overall strategic goals. The Sr Designer will possess the ability to think strategically and create vision, communicate such vision effectively, have experience working with and leading discussions across functional teams, have deep knowledge of interaction, information and visual design principles, offer hands-on design skills at the expert level and can coach stakeholders in user-centered design best practices, processes and creating vision.

The Sr Designer will be report to the Director of Web Development and will be responsible for highly usable and intuitive interface creation. All concepts you create will be brand-consistent across both desktop and mobile (responsive or native) experiences. Their expertise will support a range of agile projects and provide UX solutions that enhance all projects that our teams develop, as well as balancing user needs against business goals and technology capabilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop intuitive, usable, and engaging interactions and visual designs

  • Provide strategic thinking and leadership

  • Perform duties as a Scrum Master

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the design process

  • Participate in the development process from definition, through design, build, test, release, and maintenance.

  • Stay abreast of UX trends and look for creative ideas and inspiration in parallel analogous worlds

  • Research and track advancements in mobile application design patterns

  • Break any design problem down into viable actionable chunks and solve them with clarity and precision

  • Staying in the loop and on top of the latest standards, changes, trends in web applications and  mobile design

Travel Requirements

Minimal travel required – up to 10%.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field; will accept work experience in lieu of the education requirement.

Knowledge and skills

  • Strong graphic design skills, with a good understanding of typography, intuitive layouts, and palate development.

  • Strong ability to recognize and predict use-cases and user interaction

  • Excellent understanding of user-experience design for web and mobile, technology trends, demonstrable design skills, and ability to show relevant work

  • Proven ability to deliver high quality designs to customers

  • A team player who can easily adapt in a rapidly changing environment

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines across multiple projects at any time

  • Great follow up on projects and deliverables with leadership and stakeholders

  • Scrum Master experience

Technical Skills

  • Expert level skills in Photoshop, InvisionApp, UXPin, HTML, CSS and other relevant design tools.

  • 1-3 years with web-based graphics editing and user interface design apps.  Figma highly desirable

  • 1-2 years experience with Command Line

Job experience

  • 2 - 3 years of experience in a web development/UX work environment

Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.
