*** This is a remote based Contractor role for Southern California. While the home base for this position would be at home, the successful individual will need to reside in Southern California and be able to travel to the local resorts as necessary by ground and be able to spend time driving around the community conducting grass roots recruiting efforts (career fairs, school visits, canvassing, site visits, etc.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Resort Operations Recruiter (Contractor) will effectively drive and manage the full life cycle recruiting process to attract top talent in a timely and cost effective manner for our beautiful timeshare resort properties in Southern California. You will strategically source, identify, screen and refer quality applicants to our resort hiring managers. This position will mainly be responsible for staffing positions such as housekeeping, maintenance, guest services, front desk, and activities personnel although may include leadership position recruiting as well.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Consulting & Collaboration (Advanced): Consult with hiring managers to determine hiring needs, understand budgeting and the compensation parameters. Create and maintain a proactive staffing strategy using knowledge of local markets to meet current and future staffing goals while providing outstanding client service and delivery. Coach, train and support all people leaders responsible for hiring, with an emphasis on processes and best practices, including behavioral interviewing, selection and offer negotiation. Focus on building relationships with hiring managers, create a strong level of trust, effectively understand their business, team dynamics and business goals. Partner with companywide staffing peers, Compensation, Human Resources and L&D Partners to share best practices and maintain companywide objectives.
Sourcing Candidates & Support Employment Branding: Heavy emphasis on identifying sourcing strategies in the local market. Canvassing local area to find places to post fliers, develop relationships with local organizations, represent the organization at recruiting events like job fairs and college campuses, etc. Proactively research, develop and manage candidate generation strategies and employment branding through innovative marketing, social media, community, and university involvement. Interview and present top talent to hiring managers. Consistently look for and introduce ways to enhance the employment brand messaging & collateral.
Administrative: Build, cultivate, and sustain an active candidate database within targeted job families. Ensure job requisitions, applicant tracking processes and reporting are implemented and effectively utilized by all. Maintain internal job postings, referrals and records within the Applicant Tracking System. Research, analyze, prepare and present hiring statistics. Maintain records on recruiting activities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree or two year technical certificate and five years of responsible professional support experience or relation combination of training and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred
Two (2) + years non-exempt and/or exempt recruiting experience preferably in the hospitality industry. Resort or hotel recruiting experience highly preferred
Demonstrated experience effectively collaborating with business leaders at all levels including executive while consistently maintaining positive working relationships
Work at Home requirements - Must reside local/commutable to one of our resorts in Southern California. Position requires high speed internet connection and modem as well as a dedicated office/workspace free from distractions. Laptop/monitor provided by company
Ability to travel locally by ground as necessary. Most travel is local to region to attend job fairs, canvas the area with fliers, or client meetings at the resorts.
Intermediate to advanced PC skills in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Microsoft Teams and Sharepoint preferred
Prior experience and proficiency with applicant tracking systems (Workday preferred), social media marketing, and internet sourcing tools such as Indeed, Pageup, and Linkedin
Demonstrated experience partnering with organizations in local communities for recruitment efforts such as colleges/universities, unemployment offices, etc.
Creative ability to think outside the box and identify new ways to generate applicants in hard to fill or remote markets
Ability to compile and provide accurate, timely reporting to management as well as maintain proper paper trails
Capable to manage multiple recruitment plans, assignments, and implement strategy in a fast-paced environment
Must be professional and possess a high level of confidentiality
Strong interviewing, negotiating and networking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include being comfortable presenting information in front of groups
Detail oriented with strong organization skills
Demonstrated flexibility, sense of urgency, adaptability and ability to handle pressure
Ability to influence and work within a matrix organization
Unless there is a legal requirement, experience will be accepted for the education requirement.
In some locations around the world, Travel + Leisure Co. manages hotel properties on behalf of a third party owner. At many of those properties, the Hotel owner is the actual employer, and Travel + Leisure Co. provides HR support including recruiting and performance management of executive team members, on behalf of the owner.
