With general supervision, the Payment Specialist - Accounts Payable will perform responsibilities with moderate to high levels of complexity related to WVO-IT inventory invoices directly into the ERP. This role requires understanding of GRIR (Goods received not invoiced). Constant interaction with the procurement team is required to resolve quantity and pricing issues. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is critical due to the volume of processing. Serves as back-up to WVO/WDN payment processing and performs all requirements of role. The overall goal is to process payments accurately and timely, while attaining a high degree of internal and external customer satisfaction.
How You'll Shine:
Generate payment files (ACH, V-Card and paper checks). Match checks to register and disburse ensuring all special handling requests are fulfilled.
Proficient in PeopleSoft and Oracle eBS.
Work with Procurement to resolve pricing variances.
Assist with the development and implementation of new procedures to enhance workflow and process improvements.
Enforcement of internal controls and SOX requirements to protect against fraudulent activities and report identified discrepancies to management.
Excellent time-management skills and work under minimal supervision in fast-paced environment.
Ability to effectively and efficiently research and resolve issues.
Assist with resolving aged items.
Liaise with our internal / external business partners performing routine audits.
Maintain confidentiality related to investigative audits.
Timely and accurate response to help desk inquiries.
SOP Maintenance.
Monthly and year-end close procedures for PeopleSoft and Oracle eBS.
At the discretion of the APSS Manager, additional tasks and projects may be assigned.
What You'll Bring:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
Highlight organized with strong attention to detail.
Strong work ethic and high degree of integrity.
Demonstrated experience in a fast-paced environment with competing, multiple priorities.
Excellent communication, customer service, organizational and planning skills.
Timely completion of assigned training requirements per role and responsibilities.
Able to work both in a team and independently.
Excellent Self-Management skills: self-motivated, calm under pressure, positive outlook, honest and exhibits self-control.
Relationship management skills - motivates others, active team building, and collaborates with others.
Excellent understanding of all APSS forms, policies, instructions, guidance documents, and internal controls.
Intermediate Excel knowledge (i.e., vlookup, pivot tables, basic formulas, etc.)
Knowledge of all payment types: Wire, ACH, Virtual Card, and Checks.
3+ years of professional accounting experience
