Are you a passionate and driven hospitality leader ready to take on an exciting and diverse role? Wyndham Resort Torquay is seeking a dynamic General Manager with a flair for service excellence, an eye for detail, and the ability to deliver results across resort operations, and strata management.
Wyndham Resort Torquay is a premier beachfront destination situated at the gateway to Victoria's iconic Great Ocean Road. Overlooking the pristine Zeally Bay Beach, the resort offers a blend of stylish hotel rooms and spacious apartments, many featuring private balconies with stunning ocean or pool views. Guests can enjoy a range of amenities, including indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a fully equipped fitness centre, tennis courts, and an on-site café and bar. With its prime location just minutes from world-famous Bells Beach and the vibrant surf culture of Torquay, Wyndham Resort Torquay provides the perfect coastal escape for families, couples, and adventure seekers alike. The resort is currently undergoing refurbishment of guest rooms due to be completed end of August.
About the Role
As General Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of this stunning 200-key resort, ensuring a seamless guest experience while managing the complexities of a strata-titled property. This is a hands-on role requiring strong leadership across all departments, including food & beverage, front office, housekeeping, and maintenance.
You will work closely with owners, guests, and the Body Corporate Committee, balancing operational excellence with strategic business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing team across all resort operations.
- Drive guest satisfaction and deliver exceptional service standards.
- Oversee financial performance, including budgets, forecasting and cost control.
- Manage strata obligations and build strong relationships with the Body Corporate.
- Ensure compliance with brand standards and legislative requirements.
- Be actively involved in the food & beverage operation and resort activities.
About You
- Proven experience as a General Manager or senior leader in a 4–5-star resort or hotel environment.
- Strong operational expertise, including food & beverage leadership.
- Experience managing strata letting management or working with Body Corporate highly regarded.
- Hands-on management style with a focus on team development and engagement.
- Excellent financial acumen and commercial awareness.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
