PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

At Travel + Leisure our vision is to put the World on Vacation, in your positon as the Housekeeping Team Leader you will be responsible for ensuring the department operates within budgets and guidelines and to the standard expected by the Manager.

Under the direction of the Housekeeping Manager, the Housekeeping Team leader participates in the day to day operation of the Housekeeping Department, specifically preparation and quality checking of all apartments and common areas. In addition to this, the Housekeeping Team Leader will assist with cleaning apartments as required.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (Include but not limited to:)

  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests, owners and other staff members at all times
  • To assist the Housekeeping Manager with the running of the department to the standard expected by the Manager
  • Maintain high standards of communication with guests, staff and management
  • Inspection of rooms and common areas on a regular basis.
  • Clean apartments when required, in accordance with standard  to ensure cleaning of all guests rooms is satisfactorily completed within allotted timeframe.
  • Responsible for monthly inventory of stock report discrepancies to Housekeeping Manager
  • Ensure guests requests are exceeded
  • Keep accurate records and monitor all requests through Housekeeping, e.g. Lost Property, VIP rooms etc
  • Delegate workload assist with other departments requests
  • Assist reception with requests when required e.g. cots highchairs
  • Maintains positive relations with other staff and management
  • Maintain discipline and make recommendations as required
  • Prep apartments for cleaners
  • Quality checking of rooms
  • Responsible for a neat, safe workplace for Housekeeping staff and guests
  • Maintain all Housekeeping related equipment in working order
  • Able to complete weekly turn cost / turns
  • Assist with weekly rosters
  • Order stock to meet par levels
  • Responsible for the Housekeeping department in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager
  • Must be dependable and flexible in roster
  • Employees must ensure they comply with Travel + Leisure’s OH&S Policy, procedures and any reasonable instruction given by Travel + Leisure.
  • Employees must not wilfully place at risk the health and safety of themselves or any other persons in the workplace and to not wilfully or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided for health and safety

KEY POSITION CRITERIA:

  • Maintain efficient running department within budget guidelines and to high standards
  • Able to display efficient & effective way of cleaning within time frames allocated.
  • Ability to work within a flexible roster, including nights, weekends, public and school holidays.
  • Understanding of Workplace Health and Safetly including safe chemical handling.
