Travel + Leisure Co. is seeking to fill the position of Legal Counsel in Orlando, Florida. This position partners with Travel + Leisure Co. Leaders in Sales & Marketing, Strategic Development, and Sourcing with a focus on commercial transactions.  The role is centered on operational contract drafting, negotiation, and guidance of Travel + Leisure Co.’s core businesses.

The position will be responsible for leading the legal components of multiple projects benefiting company initiatives and coordinates with multiple corporate and field operational teams. Position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as solid research abilities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide legal advice and legal work product related to all facets of commercial transactions involving Sales & Marketing, Strategic Development, and Sourcing, including the review, drafting, and negotiation of related agreements, including MSAs, sourcing agreements for services and products, maintenance and support, consulting, strategic sourcing services, development, confidentiality and non-disclosure, and associated modifications, renewals, schedules, work orders, assignments, and terminations.
  • Identify and evaluate facts, major issues, and potential legal exposure; advise senior management; and negotiate resolutions and settlements regarding disputes and claims.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized agreements relating to Sales & Marketing, Strategic Development, and Sourcing.
  • Advise senior management in the evaluation of new products, services, relationships and business development opportunities
  • Performs other duties as needed

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

Education

  • Juris Doctorate degree from accredited law school.

Training requirements

  • Admitted to Bar Association in at least one state (need not be Florida) and admitted as authorized house counsel in Florida, if not admitted in Florida.

Knowledge and skills

  • Strong analytical, writing and negotiation skills.

  • General corporate/commercial and real estate knowledge.

  • Condominium and timeshare knowledge a plus.

  • Hospitality experience a plus.

  • Real estate experience a plus.

  • Strong leadership and management skills.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment yet work independently and autonomously with limited supervision.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of management, including senior executive staff.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.

  • High attention to detail.

  • Flexible in managing changing priorities and coordinating multiple projects and diverse responsibilities.

Technical Skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.

  • Proficiency in legal research, including applications, the Web and other sources.

Job experience

  • 2-5 years legal experience preferred.

Unless there is a legal requirement, experience will be accepted for the education requirement.
