Job Summary

The Affiliate Resort Operations Manager serves as a liaison between Wyndham Destinations and the “Affiliate Resorts” managed by third party management companies.  The Affiliate Resort Operations Manager is directly responsible for delivering a great experience to the Wyndham Destinations guest staying at the property; working in conjunction with the onsite operations leadership team in order to ensure consistency with the quality of the product, service standards and guest experience. The role is also responsible for various financial aspects of the resort, which is a property not directly managed by Wyndham Destinations.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Embrace and exhibit the highest level of ethics and integrity consistent with Wyndham Destinations standards, demonstrate an ability to motivate and communicate expectations with humility and respect. Work closely with all departments at the property to ensure highest level of guest satisfaction and compliance with WVC Standards.  Address complaints timely and elevate issues to Wyndham Destination leadership and Affiliate Resort leadership when necessary in order to maximize efficiency of problem resolution. Provide superior guest service assistance and resolution via written, phone and direct face-to-face communication in response to guest related situations and associate interactions. (50% of time) Training staff on Wyndham Destinations current and upcoming standards and processes. Recommend and assist in implementing resort management strategic initiatives and programs developed to enhance guest satisfaction. Identify areas of process improvement and leverage best practices by working with appropriate corporate resources as necessary. (20% of time) Ensure compliance with Wyndham Destinations Quality Assurance standards at the property. Ensure that the site meets all standards by performing daily audits and inspections. Identify process improvements and best practices, ensure all compliance standards and audits are met. (20% of time) Exhibit working knowledge of standards and documents of HOA, understand governing statues and board meeting procedures. (5% of time) Plan, interpret, and explain the budget and P&L for the property identifying areas of cost reduction, operational improvement and periodic analysis of expense data.  (5% of time)

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in hospitality management, business, or related field required.  
  • Hospitality Certifications Preferred
  • Associate Governance Preferred

Training requirements

  • CAM License Preferred

Knowledge and skills

  • Working knowledge of hospitality departments: Front Office, Maintenance, and Housekeeping.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong Leadership ability: motivate, change, and lead others to success
  • Proven track of ethical leadership and integrity
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to influence others in the decision making process
  • Financial acumen - manage budgets in excess of $ 1 million

Technical Skills

  • Microsoft Office: Word, excel, Office
  • Experience operating computer systems for hotel & property operations, logistics, finance & inventory.

Job experience

  • Three (3) years of property Vacation ownership/hotel management experience required in a leadership role.
  • Mixed use experience a plus

Experience equivalent to the education requirement may be accepted in lieu of the education requirement.

Level of decision making authority

  • Responsible for decisions regarding day to day operations of the resort ensuring a consistent functioning operation offering high levels of Hospitality with Heart.

Level of autonomy

  • Must have the ability to work independently with remote supervision utilizing business partners and regional leaders as needed to ensure compliance and protection of assets , owners and associates at all  times.

Impact of incumbent’s decisions on the organization

  • Judgment and decisions are impactful to the company
  • Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of a situation or data requires review of indefinable factors.

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • No direct Reports under this position.

Scope/Financial Responsibility

  • Understand and formulate annual operations budgets by identifying areas of cost reductions, operational improvements and periodic analysis of expense data. Work with Corporate accounting team review and analyze a monthly financial reports and be able to describe impact of revenue, profit or expenses that could affect financial results.
