The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for the timely compilation of financial information leading to the accurate preparation of the financial statements for 4 Wyndham Destinations properties and 6 Associations. This includes, but is not limited to, posting journal entries into the general ledger, handling payables (including checks and wire transfers), bank reconciliations, billing reconciliations, account analysis, audit schedules, forecasting and budget reporting, and statistical accumulation.
Prepare and review journal entries essential to building an accurate general ledger
Responsible for month end and year end close - review preliminary general ledger (GL), list and submit accruals and reclassifications, maintain check books and submit propane expense
Prelim reviews for 5 HOA’s – Account by account, review GL and checkbooks. Request any needed accruals/re-classes or corrections; send prelim notes to HOA accounting department; conduct secondary prelim and make necessary adjustments
Supervision of 2 Accounting Clerks that are direct reports – coaching, mentoring, and developing of that staff. Manages the workflow of the team and reviews their work for accuracy. Ensures that deadlines and performance standards are met
Payroll allocations in SharePoint for new and transferred Associates; edit, approve, and audit timekeeping system as well as reconcile Associate PTO; Payroll reclassifications; Review and reconcile active employee list – ensure proper allocation
Forecasting – Soft and Hard finals; meet with leadership team, review, and ensure we hit forecast deadlines
Review, prepare for, and attend financial calls for HOAs, the Club, and investment calls
Audit purchase card for compliance, proper coding, and sales tax. Submit reclasses, make adjustments, and communicate to cardholders on errors
Reconcile all balance sheet accounts in accordance with departmental policy
Prepare monthly reconciliations of corporate related party receivables and payables
Assist in the coordination of and preparation for financial audits as required
Assist in the creation of budget reports and in preparation of annual budgets
Update reserve reconciliations monthly – distribute split week reports
Monitor banking activity to ensure funds are available to clear wires and checks
Reporting on sales tax, surplus deficit, split weeks
Review event agreements, business licenses, taxes, insurance claims, fixed asset verifications as needed
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Accredited College or University
Knowledge and skills
Excellent strategic, analytical and creative thinking aptitude in both an independent and team environment.
Intermediate understanding of GAAP accounting
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently, be well organized, perform under stressful situations and communicative effectively
Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word, Outlook and Access
PeopleSoft/Oracle or other EPM software
1+ years of experience working within a general ledger and supporting month end close and reporting, budgeting and forecasting
1+ years in leadership experience
Timeshare experience preferred
