As a strategic function, the Director, Corporate Insurance will play a key role in Travel + Leisure Co.’s risk management program by identifying, analyzing and communicating risks that affect Travel + Leisure Co.’s business.  This role will also have ownership of and/or support multiple disciplines within Travel + Leisure Co.’s corporate insurance program. Other areas of insurance that this role will support include, General Liability, E&O, Worker’s Compensation, Property, Environmental Liability, Cyber, Automobile Liability, Foreign Liability, Directors and Officers Liability, Umbrella/Excess Liability, in addition to Crime and Fiduciary Liability.  The Director, Risk Management will also have ownership of the department’s contract review process and will support the Vice President, Risk Management with Travel + Leisure Co.’s enterprise-wide risk management program as needed.  This role will interact across the organization on a variety of risk management issues which impact our businesses and functional groups.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Identify, assess, communicate and prioritize overall business risks of all kinds.

  • Review insurance, indemnity and other related contract provisions in legal agreements to limit the corporation’s exposure to loss and assure regulatory and contractual compliance.

  • Coordinate with brokers and internal customers to obtain required underwriting data for placement of Travel + Leisure Co.’s insurance policies. 

  • Prepare, analyze and communicate insurance placement submission information and insurance market presentation information as needed. 

  • Participate in insurance broker and market meetings as needed.

  • Read and interpret Travel + Leisure Co.’s insurance policies to ensure policy language is appropriate.  Work with insurance brokers and coverage counsel to make certain that all policy language is appropriate and all policies purchased are received with the intended coverage.  Communicate a summary of Travel + Leisure Co.’s policy language and coverages to management as needed.

  • Support and provide data for the annual budget preparation

  • Responsible for policy & exposure recordkeeping, retention, and ensuring the Riskonnect system stays up to date. 

  • Manage Travel + Leisure Co.’s complex business interruption claims, as needed, which includes working with loss adjusters, brokers and internal customers (legal, finance, accounting, property management, and construction) to achieve optimal claims resolution.  Will also assist with other insurance claims and risk finance areas as needed. 

ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate degree in risk management, finance, economics, business administration, statistics, marketing, management or equivalent.

  • At least seven years of risk management experience, with a strong focus on complex program placement and contract review.  Evidence of consistent increases in responsibilities.

  • Experience with placement of foreign multinational operations highly preferred. 

  • Experience with insurance programs, loss analysis, and captive insurance programs is highly preferred.

  • Industry certifications, including ARM, AIC, CPCU are strongly preferred.

  • Must be able to build and foster strong partnerships with business, corporate teams and service providers, as well as communicate to a wide variety of audiences in clear, concise fashion and be a facilitator of group action.
