PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:
To manage the WorldMark South Pacific Club Resort operations and nominated hybrid resort operations in a
professional and profitable manner and in doing so provide a high level of owner and guest satisfaction.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: (Include but not limited to:)
- Oversee the strategic and operational management of the Resorts.
- Prepare budgets and ongoing financial management of the Resort Operations ensuring costs are contained within budget and rental and incremental income maximized.
- Monitor financial performance of each resort, identify and address areas of concern. In conjunction with the GM-Special Projects, implement policies and procedures and monitor compliance with same, to ensure the efficient management of and high service levels at the Resorts.
- Ensure Resorts operate in compliance with the Club’s constitution and Rules and Guidelines.
- Working with Resort Development to bring on line new resorts and apartments acquisitons
- FF&E reserve planning and ongoing Refurbishment of the Resorts/Apartments to maintain high standards.
- Ensure that we maximize occupancy in inventory. In conjunction with the GM – Special Projects, Resort Operations, implement and maintain new benefits and product enhancement for owners as determined by the SVP Resort Operations.
- Oversee the operations ensuring that the rental business is operating at an acceptable profit.
- Liase with the executive team and other departments to achieve the common goals of Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific and its subsidaries
- Oversee other aspects of the business, including but not limited to Body Corporates for managed resorts
- Work with Sales to create initiatives that generate new leads to enhance our sales process and drives an increase in upgrade revenue within the WorldMark environment
- Other duties that may be reasonabily requested from time to time
KEY POSITION CRITERIA:
- Bachelors degree or relevant qualification
- Minimum 5 years day to day operational experience in the resort hospitality industry and 3 or more years working with Body Corporate/ Strata Community Scheme Associations a Managing Agent and/or Board Member.
- Substantial experience in running multiple resorts/hotels and a track record of achieving set financial targets in challenging times.
- Familiarity with all aspects of resort and property management, including body corporate/ stratamanagement law, Industrial Relations regulations, Work place health & safety regulations, etc.
- Employees must ensure they comply with WVRAP’s OH&S Policy, procedures and any reasonable instruction given by WVRAP.
- Employees must not wilfully place at risk the health and safety of themselves or any other persons in the workplace and to not wilfully or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided for health and safety.
- Ability to work with and interpret Body Corporate/Strata Community Scheme governing documents, budgets, financial statements, statistical reports and legal/contractual documentation.
- Ability to work productively in a fast paced, heavy growth and changing environment.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries and complaints from owners, regulatory agencies, or members of the business/resort community.
- Skilled in leadership, team building and mentoring, negotiating, problem solving, short and long-term planning.
- Ability to effectively present information to Executive Committee, public groups, employees, and Board of Directors.
- Willingness to travel interstate and internationally frequently
- Willingness to be available on call 24 x 7.
